SOS: Save Our Stories · Social Studios Proposal

Three ways to run the campaign engine.

For forty-four years, the Saddledome held Calgary’s games, concerts, and quiet in-between moments. It became the one shape in the skyline everyone here recognizes without thinking. In October 2027, it comes down. We have one year left to save the stories that will keep it alive after it’s gone.

The situation

The Saddledome comes down in October 2027. You have one shooting season to capture it, and eight days until the crowdfunding campaign has to be live.

You already have the raw material: a hundred Stampede interviews, a four-minute sizzle reel, and forty more voices on the wish list. That's hours of footage that needs to become a steady stream of content for a full year, not a one-time drop.

The plan is straightforward. Build the audience before the broadcasters ask for it. Get to 50,000 followers so Rogers, CBC, and Sportsnet see demand instead of a pitch deck. Use that audience to power the crowdfund, and use the crowdfund to prove the film has a market.

None of that works if the footage sits on a drive. You said it yourself: you don't want to fight the algorithm, and you shouldn't have to.

One more thing worth locking down early. Don wants this cinematic and moody, closer to Muscle Shoals than to a vlog. The social cuts should carry that same tone, not the fast, filtered look of a reality show.

Reference · tone. This is the register the reels should carry.

Three ways to work together

1

Strategy & Advisory

For when you want the plan, not the labor.

Kahani builds the full twelve-month content and crowdfunding roadmap: a content calendar mapped to your shoot schedule, a growth plan toward 50,000 followers, and a crowdfunding perk structure sequenced so something new drops every few weeks instead of one big ask on October 1.

Your team executes. We check in monthly to keep it on track.

One-time strategy build$3,000
Monthly advisory$750/mo

Best for — hiring in-house help and wanting someone who's built these campaigns before to set the plan.

2

Content Sprints

For paying as the footage comes in.

Kahani takes a batch, whether that's the Stampede interviews, a newly wrapped voice, or launch-day footage, and turns it into a finished content set: reels, carousels, and quote cards, cut to the cinematic direction Don wants. You approve, we post or hand off the files.

Launch Sprint (10/10/10)$5,300
Standard Sprint (6/6/6)$3,200
À la carte / piece$75–$400

Best for — matching spend to whatever's actually been shot that month.

3

Full Campaign Engine

For taking it off your plate entirely.

Kahani runs the whole social and crowdfunding engine for the twelve-month production: strategy, editing every batch as it arrives, a consistent look across all eight episodes, scheduling, perk tracking, and monthly reporting against the 50,000-follower target.

Base engine matches our standard Social Studios retainer. A Growth Boost adds volume once the crowdfund is moving.

Base engine (8/8/8 monthly)$5,000/mo
Paid upfront, 12 months$54,000
+ Growth Boost (8/8/8 more)+$5,000/mo

Best for — once the crowdfund is real and you want a guaranteed number to hand a broadcaster.

Add-ons

Priced separately from the tiers above, because they don't happen on a schedule.

Footage Intake & Logging

Before any tier can start cutting, someone has to ingest the files, transcribe every interview, and log the usable moments. Not optional, and not included above — do this first, once, and everything after moves faster.

Per interview$60
Full Stampede batch (up to 100)$5,000

Ad-hoc Vancouver Filming

If someone on the 44-voice list lives in or passes through Vancouver and doesn't want to travel to Calgary, we shoot it here and hand you the raw footage: camera operator, someone to run the conversation, a clean location.

Half-day (up to 3 hrs, 1 subject)$1,800
Full-day (multiple subjects)$3,200

Next steps

Since we're on a call today, here's the short version to talk through live.

  1. 1

Run Footage Intake & Logging on the Stampede batch first, so there's something an editor can actually work from.

  2. 2

Run a Launch Sprint (Tier 2) on the logged footage to get content live before October 1.

  3. 3

Revisit Tier 1 or the base Tier 3 engine once you know what the crowdfund actually raises and where Q4 budget lands.

  4. 4

Send over the raw footage, the deck, and access to what's already shot so we can scope the intake accurately.

These numbers are a starting point for today's conversation, not a final invoice.
